Gary J. Bergenske of Orlando, Florida, is the official event representative for Shriners International for this weekend’s Shriners Hospitals for Children Baseball Classic. He is currently serving his sixth year as a member of the Boards of Directors for Shriners International and Shriners Hospitals for Children. Bergenske was elected Imperial Oriental Guide, part of the 13-member body that helps
govern the Shriners fraternity, during the Shriners’ 2012 Imperial Session – held in Charlotte July 1-5.

Bergenske is a Past Potentate of Bahia Shriners in Orlando. He was raised a Master Mason in 1994 at Eola Lodge #207. He is also a perpetual member of the Orlando Scottish Rite and has been bestowed with the rank of Knight Commander of the Court of Honor. Bergenske served three successful years as Chairman of the Shriners International all-star college football event, the East-West Shrine Game. He has also served as Chairman of the Public Relations Committee. Currently,
Bergenske serves on multiple committees including Public Relations, Revenue Cycle, Corporate Compliance, Information Services, Medical Affairs, Strategic Planning, and he is the liaison for both Shriners Hospitals for Children – Galveston and Houston.
Bergenske has been a member of the Imperial Membership Executive Committee for 13 years. His real passion is wrapped around his deeply rooted mission of seeing the Masonic fraternity grow. He came up with the idea of a Shriners mascot to promote the fraternity and to attract younger generations. This resulted in the birth of “Fez Head Fred.” While serving as Membership Chairman of Bahia Shriners, he created and developed the Mentor Program to get new members involved.
This program is now used by Shriners throughout the world.

In 1985, Bergenske purchased J&J Metro Moving and Storage, which he has owned and operated for the past 26 years. In addition, Bergenske is a motivational speaker and has written three books. His books are about how you can “Build a
Better Life” and “Become a Better Leader” and are available in more than 10 countries, where they are making a positive difference in people’s lives.
