In 2010, the Waco chapter of Shriners International (Karem) hosted the first youth baseball event in support of the  Shriners Hospitals for Children® in Galveston and Houston. After the second annual event in 2011, interest in hosting similar events in cities with chapters of Shriners International developed rapidly. In 2012, three events will be held in Texas throughout the spring, and one fall event will be held near Charleston, South Carolina in support of Shriners Hospitals for Children — Greenville.

In 2013, the baseball initiative will double in size, expanding to eight events in four states.
